Blimey, that was unexpected, overdid it today, loads of pain in my wrists, but the glory's worth it.. you know, if there *was* any glory!
Today was odd, first two hours everything over 600ft was thick fog, then when I wasn't looking it all disappeared. And for added bonus the bike was silent for the first time in a week, hooray! I used this to my advantage and launched many successful stealth attacks on people with multi-thousand pound bikes.
It was also pink29er's 7,000th mile birthday thingy today, that is also quite a long way.

Thanks! I got my calculations wrong and did 10 miles to much today, oh well, I doubt I'll come close to this again, it's very very very time consuming/tiring (but at least I can eat loads of Double Deckers and not feel guilty!)

I've heard that before :)
I can't believe the pink29er hasn't broken yet...

It's getting too late in the year, now, I've been lucky this month that it only rained horribly for the first five days, it's been quite fast since, so less tiring, so putting in an extra loop or detour's not been hard at all (wind still hurts though). I've done enough hard rides now, I think I'll just start to wind down the longer weekday rides and save energy to open cans of whoopass at the weekends.
((probably))

Which figure are we looking for to hit the 10000mile mark?
Is it the TOC?

nope, "Offroad Riding"
TOC includes (probably incorrectly) aborted rides.
So 136 left.. probably all to be done in the rain :(

Have you been out today (silly question) are the trails slutchy or did they stand up ok to the last few days rain?
I haven't been out for a while, just wondering what to expect tonight.

everything lower than george's lane is fine, anything above is a bit slippy. It's not actually rained here, it's just the hill's been covered in cloud for 3 days so it's just got damp, rather than soggy.
Main issue is visibility with all the water in the air meaning you can't see a damn thing.

Oh joy, all that cash spent on lights and it's gonna be reflected back in my eyes so I won't be able to see anyway.

it's cleared up a bit now, supposed to be sunny tomorrow so maybe it'll be OK tonight.
