Setting New Records

26 Nov 2007 at 12:20 Filed Under:
  • Chain Life: 5 days
  • Hub Life: 4 days
  • Tyre Life: 9 days

SRAM, Hope and WTB, you're all ON THE LIST! (Hope for the 10th time)

I guess I should elaborate: The chain's shit, since being new on Thursday its been re-tensioned 9 times, had a link removed and has grown over 1/2 an inch, now it grinds, it's wonky and it's drops off the cog far-too-easily. SRAM, SUCK MY BALLS

Hub: despite all new parts, and being only 3 days old, it's already misfiring, with every other freewheel-to-pedalling action causing a loud cracking noise, which usually happens when the ratchet ring's busted.. nice work Hope. SUCK MY BALLS

WTB Prowler XT Tyre, 9 days old, bead rips off. which happened yesterday as the tyre developed a large 'shimmy' OK, I run 23psi, but there's no stated lower pressure limit on the tyre, thankfully I only paid 7.50 or it. It might have been the 321 rim eating the tyre, though, as that rim's destroyed at least FOUR tyres in 12 months... but.. WTB, you can SUCK MY BALLS.

I'm clearly cursed, the chances of getting to 2008 without having to buy new chains, or needing to rebuild / replace wheels is looking very unlikely.

Jan 1st can't come soon enough.
