Update: The official information is now available

"ultra-light eccentric BB"

Booo!!! EBBs are rubbish *maybe* sounds like more maintenance than I like though, but an ali bb shell might make it creak less as it will be nice and thick. But also sounds like the bike will be more expensive than it is currently.

Using my ingenuity I have located these pictures of two of the three new things from Santa Cruz (I think the images were only put on the web 20mins ago! - LOL!)

New Chameleon

Looks like a replaceable hanger on the back, with the front end taking on the style of the new heckler

The Stigmata (Cross Bike)

This looks like a bike. In the new Sand colour. (UPDATE! there are actually bottle bosses on DT and ST, but overzealous photoshopping has chopped them flat)

How long do you reckon before I own one or the other or both of these?

Brant should have called the on-one ti cx frame the stigmata rather than being boring and calling it an inbred.

22:47 07 Aug

I think Brant's obsessed with Inbreds ;)

22:54 07 Aug

The Chameleon is fugly, however the crosser looks quite nice though, but I bet it's got sod all tyre clearance.

23:01 07 Aug

Built for racing apparently, take that as you want it, but I think you'll be correct.

Does this mean they'll be selling the Roadster again??

08:15 08 Aug

No bottle bosses.

"Does this mean they'll be selling the Roadster again??"

Bosses.. that might be over excited photoshopping / because the photo's of a pre-production frame.

Cham looks nice - whatd the 3rd new bike gonna be then?

xc race hardtail?

"Brant should have called the on-one ti cx frame the stigmata"

I told him that at the time. I promised to buy one if he did, and I'd fit it with red bar tape and red pedals.

He didn't, so I bought a Cannondale.

13:42 08 Aug

I remember you saying it Bez. I said I'd buy one if he put a disc mount on it. He did so I bought one :)

13:52 08 Aug

I nearly bought one, but then they ran out.

14:11 08 Aug

You always nearly buy something before they run out, rich!

15:00 08 Aug

That's usually because I procrastinate for too long.

15:53 08 Aug

RICH: "race ready ‘cross frame. It has a low BB and tight geometry, and tons of tire clearance. "

16:22 08 Aug

Bah, well clearly you're Brant's bum chum or something then Simon.

Although I did tell him that seat tube bottle bosses were bad, and the next Inbred didn't have them.

And then he kept doing things I don't like with the top tube cable guides, so clearly I'm out of favour again.

16:33 08 Aug

Seat tube bosses are useful for tools / gps / extra bottles / lights etc IMO

is that "tons of AMERICAN tire clearance"

i think TYRE clearance and not MUD clearance is the key point
