Knock Stop v1

08 Sep 2007 at 17:31

More Heath Robinson fixing, hopefully this will stop the knocking!

Humpday.

After only 600 miles the Pro2 hub's bearings are falling apart! There's probably a 3mm movement at the rim (which is a lot but not much to make me care really) which is stupid considering the bike's not really done much mileage and has only been rained on about 11-12 times.

Of course hope will blame me for using the hub singlespeed, whereas the play in the bearings are actually in the hub shell no the freehub.

Maybe it's time to invest in King?

Ping! 8k on the clock for '07

Horrible weather today, wet windy, and more wetness, the bike was all over the place, slipping around like an eel at a disco.

Knee still sore, but I was so cold after about 40 mins I didn't really notice. I could have done with my 'baffle' today, blazing though one of the two rear pads in double quick time.. the other's fine because of the sticky or stuck piston.

This Was Yesterday*

* today it's raining and stupidly windy again.

My knee hurt again today, if anything it was worse at the start but better at the end. It felt like the pain has moved to the left a bit now, and more to the edge o the the knee bone (back to silly bone naming) and there's a sore-to-touch area to the top too.

It's also got a distincive crunch under power but that could have been there already as it's the knee that I need to crunch back into position regularly and is the one on my kicking leg, which has seen years of abuse.

Lucky the weather's back to being crap or I'd be unhappy at putting in short rides.

24.4miles | Super Windy, Drizzle, Mist, Mild, More Wind.

This Might Be a Problem.

29 Aug 2007 at 13:53

I hurt myself quite badly on 15th January 1992 when I slipped off a 4ft wall and landed knee caps first on the hard pavement.

It took me about 5 mins of lying on the floor to clear the pain and hobble back inside.

KHS Knee

Last night I hurt my knee again, the right one, I have no idea how, but putting weight on to it to lift off a chair, for example, hurt a lot. I thought it would go away in the night.. It didn't.

I've crunched the kneecap back into place about 7 time already today, but the pain's still ther and the patella (get me with my accurate bone names) keeps levering itself back up and I have to crunch it again.

Being stupid I still went for a ride, which kinda hurt ... a lot.

28.4miles | Dry. Breezy, Cool like Autumn, Busy.

... and my sternum (yeah! again with body part names) is also really sore, I can't push down with my left hand without a pain shooting across the ribs on my right side.. weird. I probably crashed my bike in a dream or something.
