Now Mojo are at it

31 Mar 2006 at 23:43
First Hope, then Twenty Four Seven and now Mojo have 'upgraded' their websites with a terrible redesign. What's going on? Is this really where the web's heading? Who's creating these sites? Are people still paying big bucks for this shit? Is the field of webdesign now so diluted with untalented workers that we can expect more of this? If the new site for Santa Cruz UK turns out as dire as these examples, you have my permission to kill me. * I've not even bothered assessing any of these sites for Standards, Accessability and Useability, it would take so long and would make my blood boil.

I can see what you mean. I dont claim to be an good designer, I'm still a fledgling learning alot but looking at these - hmmmm.
The Mojo is just plain ugly and the functionality is awful - getting horizontal scrollers on the nav and main window nevermind the factthat it's looking "cheap" Hope site is plain GREEEEN! i like the interface but it's too damn busy - done by a french bunch i see! As for the 24seven site - it's jus not - good. - it's... dont have a word for that really.

Think you are right mate. There is an overflow of crap desifners doing things on the cheap and producing shite. Good Luck with the Santa Cruz site - i think it's safe that we, your public have faith in you.

I completely agree, those are shocking. Still, you've got the chance to do something awesome with the Santa Cruz site, so good luck.

Just keep telling yourself the cream will rise to the top. Or the shite will sink to the bottom. Or something.

Yes, I can do something awesome,, but will I be allowed to.

I suspect there will be 2 versions of the site, the live one.... and the designers version.

Wow. 24-7 take the prize for most pointless splash screen of all time, before presenting you with a completely illegible nav-bar. I can feel a couple more scathing blog posts coming on ;-)

I left the proper dissection of the websites for you, I don't bother delving further than the initial 'not good' appearances.
